Streets of Verona

Hey everyone!! It's been a pretty busy week, but yesterday we got to go to Verona, which was absolutely amazing and gorgeous!!! It is defiantly my favorite place I've been so far. It's about an hour and a half bus ride from Ferrara. It was a lot different from being in Ferrara though because it's a lot more modern and touristy, and a lot bigger. I'm so used to people in Ferrara only speaking Italian, so it was a little weird when a lot of the people in Verona actually spoke English. When we first got there, we went up into the hills of Verona and got a beautiful view of the whole city. It was a little foggy, so it wasn't super clear, but it was still amazing to see. There was also a really old church at the top of the hill too. Then after that we went down into the city and saw Castel Vecchio, which was a huge castle right on the Adige river that was built in the 1300's! There was also an amazing bridge that connected the castle to the other side of the river. After we saw the castle, we went to Juliet’s House from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, which was cool, but very crowded.
We also got to climb to the top of Lamberti Tower, which is 84 meters tall and gave us a great view of the city. There was an elevator we could have taken, but we made the mistake of thinking we could climb the stairs all the way to the top, which we did, but it was quite the climb:)
Also, last night in Verona there was a huge concert in the Roman Amphitheater, or the Arena, so it was even more crowded than usual. Because of the concert we couldn't go in the Arena, which is usually open to the public when there aren't big events.
I miss everyone and hope you're all doing well!!! :)
